The Recovery Support Service is a personalised service assisting people across Wingecarribee and Wollondilly who have been affected by the bush fires or other emergency events. We can provide you with information, decision-making and recovery resources.
Providing a flexible, customised service whether by phone, video call, or other online tools, locally based workers will support you via whatever technology you have available. The team will be working creatively to continue to stay connected with people in ways that protect their health and wellbeing. Where possible we can meet with you in person, in accordance with social distancing guidelines.

The Recovery Support Service offers free support and information to individuals and households impacted by the bushfires across Wingecarribee and Wollondilly. The service is delivered by a team of locally based Bushfire Recovery Support Officers.
Recovery Support Officers are trained, local workers with skills in support work, case management or broader welfare work. They are led by a Coordinator, with support, training, quality assurance, specialist advice, supervision and orientation to bushfire-specific issues provided.
An individual or household needing support is assigned a Recovery Support Officer with the skills and expertise to assess their needs. They will meet in venues familiar to the individual, such as their home, workplace or a familiar community space.

The Recovery Support Service is a flexible system, ranging from facilitating self-access to information, to providing intensive support for individuals and households who may be temporarily unable to independently access the services they need for recovery. The focus is on empowering the individual.
