A free and confidential mental health support service for children aged 3–12 years.
Available in Camden, Wollondilly, and Wingecarribee.
How STAR4Kids Can Help
- You are worried about your child’s emotional wellbeing
- You want to improve your child’s overall mental health
- You’re unsure where to turn for help
- You’re not sure which service is right for your child
Your child does not need a formal diagnosis to access STAR4Kids services.
What to Expect
Your child will receive up to 12 hours of free psychological support from a trained and experienced STAR4Kids professional. These may include psychologists, mental health nurses, accredited counsellors, or social workers with experience working with children.
Child counselling is tailored to young minds and may include play, drawing, and storytelling to help your child express themselves and work through challenges.
How to Access the Program
- GP Referral: Book a long appointment with your GP to complete a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan (for Children).
- Non-GP Referral: Referrals can also be made by approved professionals such as early childhood educators, teachers, or school counsellors. You’ll then be contacted to arrange an assessment and may need to follow up with your GP.
