We provide young people, families and the general community of Wollondilly and Camden with support, information, activities and referrals; Service the core local government areas (LGAs) of Wollondilly and Camden; Partner with other health, youth and community services in areas outside core LGAs
The Casework Team
The Casework Team works across 3 programs and two locations (Tahmoor and Smeaton Grange). The team’s model of operation is one of prevention and early intervention working with entire families to connect family members to the community. This is achieved through referral to individual services (groups for children and young people, parent/carer information and education etc.) and other health, youth and community services (financial and legal assistance, housing and mental health services). This team is supported by an Internal Intake and Referral Process that incorporates a holistic approach to family/individual needs on initial contact and assessment. The family/individual is then referred to internal or external programs or services based on need.
The Community Development Team
The Community Development Team provides information and referral for a diverse range of community members; builds the capacity of community members through groups, activities and skills development; and provides projects and events that connect community members to their local communities. The Haven Project provides carer support through respite, education and information. The Community Development Program is supported by our Information and Resource Library built up over 20 years of service provision, information, expertise and local knowledge.
The Youth Team
The Youth Team employs 2 workers and provides services for young people ranging from counselling and accommodation to groups and activities at the Youth Hub in Tahmoor; Picton High School; and outreaching to small villages in Wollondilly. The Youth Team’s strengths are in their experience and expertise in providing quality and nationally recognised programs for young people. The team has been successfully delivering self-developed and implemented youth programs for disengaged young people in schools and communities for over 10 years.
